Educator's Corner

"The difference between a reading skill and a reading strategy is that a skill is automatic and a  strategy is a process you apply when you have difficulty understanding what you're reading.  Good readers use both skills and strategies.  More information on this topic can be found in "Clarifying Differences Between Reading Skills and Reading Strategies," Afflerbach, Pearson, Paris, Reading Teacher, 61(5), pp. 364-73. Feb. 2008 "
